Meet rhett baird

My story

For those of you that don’t know, I left the comfort of a steady full time job in January 2022. I have worked in various different manufacturing facilities for over 22 years and been able to visit countless others as part of my career. During this time I was able to observe the manufacturing process of many different items from Corvettes to metal brackets. That knowledge I have gained from my career, carpentry skills learned from shop class in school and my desire to be an entrepreneur has allowed me to follow a passion that had been a hobby. That hobby is making furniture out of reclaimed bourbon barrels.

My philosophy

Make items that people are amazed to see.

The details make the difference

Details make the difference

  • Zero exposed fasteners

  • Rounded edges

  • Sanded smooth

  • Exterior Spar Urethane on all outdoor items

Bourbon barrels come from a variety of different cooperages and distilleries. They are different ages, slightly different sizes, weathered, stained, cracked, leaky, but most importantly smell like bourbon! Sometimes they have been twice used by breweries for beer, distilleries for rum. Either way I obtain these barrels I give them a second or third chance in life.

Due to the variation in the barrels the products will have variation in them as well. Typically this will result in different coloring and patterns on the wood itself. This is what seperates a piece of bourbon barrel furniture from a traditional manufactured piece of furniture.
